Has lunch here.  Oh boy tacos oh my delicious  hubby had a lobster roll.  Let me start by saying we have wanted to come here for a long time but this restaurant is always so busy but it wasn't this afternoon so we went for lunch.  So happy we did.

They have a salsa bar all you can eat with chips that you help yourself too.  The decor is amazing.  The food I can't say enough so fresh and amazing.  This is a must try

Food is delicious, but be careful this store is sneaky. They add a "surcharge" to your bill without prior notice.

When I asked the girl, she got her boss to give me a b/s. Since I was with my clients, I won't argue with them:

But just be careful. And they should be honest.

I was disappointed because I like the food and service at the Gaslamp location which is much better than this location. The beans were salty and the rice was dried out. First I thought it was under cooked but it was only the rice on top that was not soft. The chowder was good but the seafood bucket was not as favorable as I expected. And they did not offer any dessert or acknowledged of a birthday celebration.

    I will revisit the Gaslamp
Location to make sure things have not changed but I will not revisit the Old Town location.

    Can't give it a 5 star because

    1. their guacamole has dairy and I'm lactose intolerant.  If I wouldn't have asked I wud have been in big trouble.   Please fix.
    2. Salsa was too spicy for me.. It wasn't weak people friendly but it was dang good.. To park u have to pay valet or pay to park near by. But not expensive.

However my wife  did enjoy the salsa and chips bar. We also did enjoy our order
Very friendly atmosphere and the staff was helpful.  The menu had a nice variety of food and drink. Good place for family and friends.   #XTRNL #Approval

I had a great experience here on a busy Thursday night. I was in town for a convention so all of the restaurants were packed for dinner. Rockin' Baja had a few seats open on the patio so my party of two was seated very quickly.

We were greeted by Alecia a few minutes later with two glasses of water. She took our drink order, answer some questions we had about the menu items, and we ordered our apps and entrees. So here are my foodie and drink recommendations:

    1. Get the margaritas! They are super tasty. I had Rocky's Margarita made with blood oranges and it was delicious. Plus they have a nice happy hour price on their margaritas too ($8 each/glass). You can also order huge pitchers if you want to get really saucy.
    2. I love me some Elote and they have it on the menu. They call it Mexican Street Corn. It was a whole cob of heavenly goodness with the right amount of mayo, cheese, and hot sauce. The corn was sweet and cooked to perfection.
    3. Taco. EAT THE TACOS. We ordered the blackened fish and lobster tacos. Both were delicious. They serve three per order and they are quite filling. The flour tortillas are light but strong enough to hold all of the yummies that fill the tacos. They also do not over sauce their tacos and have a fresh salsa bar where you can drown your taco any way you like.
    4. I really love the churros here. They are served warm with the right amount of gooey inside to the soft crispy outside. They also serve it with warm caramel sauce. I literally ate every crumb.

I highly recommend you stop by Rockin's Baja whether you want to get saucy, fill your belly, or a little of both when in the Gas Lamp District.
